We will have nightly prayer meetings at specific locations in our city at 7pm. Each will have a theme and addres an area of influence, 2-The Great Commission, 3- Religion, 4- adopt a block/site all day, 5- Family, 6- Government, 7- Education, 8- Business, 9- Media, 10- Social Justice, 11- Arts and Entertainment

We will have a simultaneous “Cross Walk” through our city, 10 ministries will carry a cross between their ministries each day as a prayer and witness walk. Then all will gather and bring it into the Main Event on June 12. We will also have special gatherings for Artists June 4 at 6pm and Musicians June 11 at 6pm.

The Global Day of Prayer, June 12, 2011: 6-9pm

We will meet at the University of Arizona Old Main Fountain for a time fellowship and connecting at prayer tents in the shade. Then for Corporate prayer, worship and vision casting for city transformation. We will encourage “adopt a block/site/issue” in our city for long term kingdom transformation. We will have a few brief testimonies from international believers.

We plan to encourage continued prayer by adopting a block/site etc. in our city. Since it is so hot here we will see how it goes, but we will begin organizing many service projects for the coming year, which include activites in and around schools and neighborhoods.

The prayer room at Mountain View Community Church will be open 24 hours during these days. This room will have 10 stations that correspond with the various themes in the GDOP booklet. Interactive stations will lead you in creative ways to pray for the world. Each station will take around 20 minutes, so plan on coming regularly throughout the 10 days of constant prayer.

We will meet from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Sunday, June 12th, at Red Bank Battlefield National Park, which is located at 100 Hessian Avenue in National Park, NJ. During that hour long period, we will pray the same “Prayer for the World” that will be prayed by hundreds of millions of Christians in 220 countries that day. We will periodically pause to offer our own personal and communal prayers. We will pray in repentance – for our individual sins and also for the sins of our communities, our nation, and even the world. We will ask God to intercede in our lives and transform all of us – to give us the faith, love, wisdom, and courage to do His will and to spread Christ’s kingdom in this world. With God all things are possible.

We also encourage you to bring your own chairs, blankets, and food and then stay after the prayer meeting for some picnic fellowship with the other families in attendance. The beautiful 44 acre national park has a picnic pavilion, playground, bathrooms, plenty of open space and grove trees, a great view of the Delaware River, and sometimes a hot dog vendor cart. The park closes at dusk, around 8:30pm.

Kickoff: June 2, 2011, 7:00 PM at Calvary Community Church

We distributed 1,000 Ten-Day Prayer Guides at our NDP event on May 5. On June 2, we will kick off the ten days of prayer with a corporate meeting at Calvary at 7:00pm. We are contacting other churches and are distributing prayer guides as needed during the month of May. We are encouraging people to use the prayer guide for united prayer as a build up to GDOP.
